If eTakeoff Bridge is acting improperly or you receive a message of the following type at startup ...

... it could be due to the fact that the database file, eTakeoffBridge.[##]Data.ctr  (where [##] represents the version number) has become corrupt.

To clean the file up, perform the steps below.

  • Open Bridge and determine the location of the Database folder
  • Click on File / Help / About the application

If you can’t run Bridge to open the above dialog, note that unless you specified a different location during Bridge installation, the default path is listed in the illustration above.

If you did specify a different location during installation, search for a Bridge file with the CTR suffix -  eTakeoffBridge.*Data.ctr

  •    Make sure all users exit out of Bridge

  •
  • Navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86)\eTakeoff\eTakeoffBridge folder
  • Copy the file, ctscmp_421.exe to the Bridge Database folder
  • Navigate to the Bridge Database folder
  • Make a copy of the database file, eTakeoffBridge.[##]Data.ctr
  •
  • Click on the computer's Start button/Run
  • Type in "cmd" to run the command shell
  • Navigate to the Bridge Database folder
  • Run the utility on the database file
    • ctscmp_421.exe eTakeoffBridge.[##]Data.ctr
